HKS Houston is seeking a design leader for the growing Commercial Interiors studio.  As a leader for HKS Houston commercial interiors you will play an active role in business development/marketing efforts, coordinating with HKS Houston Commercial Practice Leader, and HKS marketing and communications team to showcase the work we do. You will coordinate award submissions with the project design teams, determine the projects to be photographed, and be an active participant writing commercial interiors proposals and interviewing for potential work.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Interior Designer, you will help develop creative, collaborative teams dedicated to design excellence and market impact. Using your unique design perspective and market knowledge, bring new, client-focused, innovative approaches to the design process and the business strategy. You will work closely with the Houston Commercial Practice Leader, and others involved in the pursuit and delivery of commercial interiors projects.

 

As a Senior Designer, you will lead creative efforts on client projects, from start to finish, mentor and provide creative direction to design teams and play an important role, setting the standard for what “goes out the door.” This includes project design strategies, work product/presentations, and project design direction. You will collaborate with team members and colleagues across disciplines and sectors. You will champion HKS design culture - promote our visual culture and an inter-disciplinary approach to design.

Qualifications

  • Professional degree from an accredited program is required.
  • 10+ years experience of total design experience is required; 7+ years of workplace design experienced preferred.
  • Architectural/ID Registration preferred.
  • LEED credential preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
  • Proficient in Revit, 3-D design tools/programs, and Adobe Suite products.
