    Our Dallas based Hospitality team is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join the team. 


    • Play a lead role in the design and documentation of FF&E for various hospitality interiors projects with the Dallas Hospitality Interiors team
    • Work with others through all project phases to enhance the design by specializing in the FF&E sourcing, selection, custom design and specification  
    • Play a key role in the overall growth and development of the Hospitality Interiors Studio through quality control and overall implementation of best practices for the FF&E process and implementation



    • Collaborate with HKS’ design leaders to establish and maintain FF&E best practices
    • Champion design quality through all phases of a project
    • Act as mentor; coaching and motivating project team members
    • Help attract new talent through proactive measures to uphold the firm’s reputation of design excellence


    Design and Design Management

    • Develop, organize and articulate design criteria for a range of project types
    • Lead conceptual FF&E design for select projects and participate in design development
    • Actively participate in key design presentations
    • Foster best practices which include research of products and appropriate specification for the project, location and overall performance and operational requirements
    • Participate in design exploration, innovation, and collaboration to achieve excellence in project work
    • Recognize opportunities to provide a contextual and sustainable design approach on a range of projects, as required
    • Manage existing design technology and continually explore, improve on and evaluate best uses for technology for FF&E services


    Client Relations

    • Build and strengthen connections with clients through a comprehensive understanding of their project mission, goals, policies, and needs
    • Communicate design solutions to clients in a clear and compelling way
    • Demonstrate how client requirements are interpreted in design solutions
    • Proactively seek information about client requirements and demonstrate how they are interpreted in design solutions
    • Engage and lead clients in explorations that respectfully challenge their understanding of appropriate design and stimulates their thinking about solutions


    Business Development

    • Be an active member of industry organizations and events.
    • Support and participate in business development efforts as engaged by Hospitality leadership
    • Participate in developing the practice through the maintaining long term client relationships by:
      • Extending existing relationships
      • Making presentations
      • Work with Hospitality leadership to establish strategy and respond to opportunities


    • 15+ years of broad design experience with emphasis on hospitality projects
    • Interior Design or Architecture License
    • LEED certification desired
    • Ability to manage team with diplomatic leadership style which puts value on relationships and collaboration, both internal and external
    • Proven leadership in a practice or large team
    • Excellent communications skills that are necessary to manage project information and foster team collaboration and mentoring
    • An understanding of the importance of being able to work with the entire design team and consultants, maintaining good client relations throughout to achieve built designs
    • Facility with both manual and technology-based design tools such as working knowledge of CAD/or BIM and proficiency in Spexx software
    • Experience with U.S. based and international Hospitality projects
