    The Internal Communications Manager is responsible for creating and implementing internal communications strategies that reinforce the HKS brand and strengthen our “One Firm” ethos. He/she will balance requests from multiple stakeholders on the executive leadership team against the communications needs of the organization’s diverse team and will determine the most effective ways to deliver timely, relevant and engaging information. The Internal Communications Manager will be responsible for creating communications that will be used across multiple platforms - requiring skills to research, write, and edit communications; manage and assess processes for optimal communications; and develop employee engagement strategies. The Internal Communications Manager will employ project management skills to track deadlines and should be experienced in organizing both processes and people to ensure that the communications team remains efficient and productive while maintaining high standards. This role resides in the People and Organizational Development team.


    • Support the development and implementation of HKS’s internal communications strategy, including:
    • Serving as a thought leader to ensure that communications best practices and emerging trends are appropriately integrated into HKS’s internal communications strategy
    • Ensuring an effective communication cascade from senior leadership to global staff
    • Establishing metrics and on-going measurement of impact/engagement
    • Execute day-to-day management of internal communications programs, including
    • Writing, editing and publishing compelling and relevant content across a range of channels and formats (e.g. email, video, PPT, intranet, in-person, etc.)
    • Collaborating with internal teams to align all internal communications with the established strategy and process
    • Creating and maintaining a master internal communications calendar
    • Ensure that HKS’s internal voice is consistent and “on brand” across all internal communications, including:
    • Conducting brand voice training for internal communicators and content creators
    • Regular review of internal communications from across the organization to ensure alignment


    • 8+ years of writing/editing experience in an internal, corporate or brand communications role (or related field)
    • Writing/editing samples are required
    • A broad portfolio of creative, compelling internal communications campaigns and content
    • Demonstrated success in concepting and developing creative brand campaigns and communications, working within time and expense parameters
    • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills and a passion for bringing creative ideas to life
    • Experience with a wide range of digital and social communication formats, channels and tools
    • Outstanding cross-team collaboration, with a demonstrated ability to work across stakeholder groups, functional areas, geographies, and differing levels of seniority
    • Strong business acumen balanced with an ability to think creatively and conceptually
    • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
